If we practise what Christians profess and move halfway to living a life of stewardship responding to the challenges of the gospel; no church should have a financial crisis but have more than enough to run itself, maintain its local programme and reach out to make a difference in mission and in the relief of the poor and needy. If we do not respond the we should remember a quote from Brennan Manning who said: "The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips then walk out the door and deny him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable"
The purpose of this website is to make available the text of a new Study Book on the theology underlying Christian Stewardship, on forming a shared vision for a local church's mission is and on providing the required resources. It is aimed at getting individuals and church groups to do some fundamental thinking prior to, or complementing, a stewardship initiative. It can also be used by Christians individually to help them re-consider their priorities and lifestyle in response to the gospel.
